President Trump mocked former Vice President Joe Biden’s pledge to better respect personal space on Thursday, retweeting a video that mocked the longtime pol on Twitter.
The 14-second video is clipped from the video Biden posted a day earlier, apologizing for unintentionally invading women’s space.
It digitally altered the footage by including a cut-out, crudely animated version of Biden creeping behind the longtime pol, before appearing to touch him as the Biden in the video explained his actions.
“Welcome back, Joe!” Trump tweeted in all caps.
The president — or someone on his social media team — appears to have taken the video from the Twitter feed of a Trump supporter, where an identical video was posted Wednesday.
Biden, long known for his glad-handing and hugs, has come under fire from many women, who say they were uncomfortable at his touchy-feely approaches.
Some of Biden’s opponents in a likely 2020 presidential race quickly attacked the former veep. However, several of his longtime colleagues in the US Senate defended the longtime former Delaware lawmaker, saying he meant no ill will in any of the interactions.
